Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions players ask most. If yours isn't here, see the Strategies or How to Play pages.

General

Is Cauldron Chaos free?
Yes. The full game — Alchemy Lab, Lab Cleanup, the Chromatorium, the Daily Brew, and Endless mode — is free to play in any modern browser. There are no paid levels, no energy timers, and no purchases required to finish the campaign.
Do I need an account?
No. The game does not require sign-up, login, or any personal information. All progress is saved locally in your browser.
Where is my progress saved?
Progress is stored in your browser's localStorage. If you clear site data or switch browsers, your progress will not transfer. There is currently no cloud save.
Can I play offline?
Yes. The game ships as a Progressive Web App (PWA). After your first visit, you can install it to your home screen and play offline. The Daily Brew requires a network connection on first load each day.
How do stars work?
Each level awards 1 to 3 stars based on how few moves you used relative to that level's par. Stars are a soft currency you can spend in the Shop on undos, hints, insights, and cosmetic bottle skins.
What is the Daily Brew?
A fixed puzzle generated from the current date, so every player worldwide gets the same challenge each day. It resets at midnight in your local time zone.
I'm stuck on a level. What should I do?
Try the Restart button first — it's free. Then read the Strategies page for tips specific to that mode. If you're still stuck, the Hint and Insight items from the Shop will reveal a recommended move.
Why does Lab Cleanup require empty tubes at the end?
If a level starts with empty tubes, the win condition requires the same number of empty tubes at the finish. That keeps the resolved puzzle visually tidy and rewards genuine sorting rather than just cramming colors together.
Does the game work on mobile?
Yes — it's designed mobile-first. Tap to select, tap to pour. It also works on tablets and desktop browsers.
Is the game color-blind friendly?
Colors are paired with distinct shapes in some animations, and bottle outlines remain high-contrast. We are continuing to improve accessibility — feedback is welcome.
Why am I seeing ads?
Ads support the cost of running the game and keep it free. See the Privacy page for details on what data is collected by ad partners.
Can I share the game?
Yes — use the Share button on the home screen. It copies a link or opens your device's native share sheet.
